We used the 4th Content page to finish up Part VI and now we are going into Part VII and then Part VIII. Part VII: Organic and Nuclear Chemistry/ page 307 starts with Chapter 14 Carbon and Organic Chemistry covering Carbon and Organic Chemistry with the chapter summary, exercises and their answers; then it covers Chapter 15 Nucleonics covering Radioactivity, Nuclear Energy and Radiation Exposure with its summary, exercises and those answers; last is Chapter 16 Representative Laboratory Setups covering Laboratory Safety Rules, New Technology in the Laboratory: Some Basic Setups, Summary of Qualitative Tests; and Chapter 16's Review Exercises with the answers and explanations; Lastly The Contents covers Part VIII: Testing Your Achievement in Chemistry/ page 383. It has prepared 3 Practice tests for us to do and see what we learned. Following those It has the Equations and Tables for Reference page 481; It also has Glossary of Common Terms page 491, and an Index page 503. The Preface of "E-Z Chemistry" comes next in the book before the Chapters and it says that it is a great supplement in helping with those presently taking Chemistry or need a review of high school chemistry also for college students taking Chemistry 101 or those who want a refresher in basic Chemistry. It says your understanding and appreciation of Chemistry will be greatly enhanced. It says it will provide you proven practical tool to "achieve an excellent functional knowledge of chemistry." It says these elements make it easy: 1. "The most up-to-date terminology and usage;" 2. "Detailed explanations, charts, and graphs;" 3. "Detailed sample problems, end-of-chapter review questions, and explained answers;" 4. "Three up-to-date practice test with answers." There will be a good Introduction to cover in the next lesson and Grandma will have to bring everything else in as we go along. She will have to stop here though for now.
