Service Description

Grandma decided to hold onto explaining the total tests, tools, dictionary and Index until they are necessary for usage. However, she feels the Introduction will be very beneficial. Therefore, she went through it with notations and prepared to type up what she felt was important. So here it goes. It may take more than one lesson. The Introduction says the purpose of the book "E-Z Chemistry" is to introduce high school chemistry in a simplified manner reinforced with charts, graphs, lists, drawings, and exercises important to comprehend what is being learned and study material given to lack last minute cramming. The tests are designed to person up for the standard tests given. It also says it is important to know laboratory set ups and techniques. Review and retest oneself to make sure you understand the material. Look for areas that you need to obtain the goals necessary to succeed in the information given. The Introduction says to test your achievement through 1. Chapter Summaries 2. Taking the Review Tests of each chapter 3. Taking the two tests (Practice Tests 1 & 2) modeled after the SAT Subject Test in Chemistry. It says the ACT test in science does not concentrate on Chemistry which is only a 40-question, 30 minute test that only measures skills in natural sciences. It assumes the student is going into a core science course. 4. Take the third Practice Test that uses a variety of multiple-choice questions but it does not use the true/false questions distinctive in the CEEB Subject Area Test in Chemistry. Then the Introduction gives some suggestions for taking actual tests as getting a good night's sleep, reading the instructions carefully, skipping questions that seem too difficult, avoid haphazard guessing, and pace oneself to answer as much as possible. (Now Grandma will go the next lesson with Problem Solving to finish the Introduction.)
